Traditional Hay/Sleigh Rides
Your one and a half hour journey will lead you through fields and forests while you, your family and friends relish the beauty of the season and breathe the fresh air. The only sounds here are those of rustling trees, stepping horses and fun-filled laughter. By the time you reach our secluded campfire nestled in a pine grove, you'll be ready to enjoy the refreshments you have brought along. Smores are the most popular snack made campfire side.
1 1/2 hour long ride including 30 minute stop around the campfire is offered during the day and evenings throughout the year. Group rate permits up to 20 guest per sleigh. Reservations Required.
Single Horse-Drawn Sleigh Perfect for couples and small families. Experience a one hour long ride through a wintery wonderland of snow. Our sleigh which seats four passengers is a recreation of an 18th century Vis-A-Vis style sleigh complete with antique lamps, maroon cloth seats and a warm sleigh robe.

Single Horse-Drawn Sleigh:
Our sleigh can carry 5 passengers at a time. Starting at 2 p.m. every half hour until 7 p.m.
(approx. 25 minute ride around the Resort grounds) Max 4 adults.
One Horse Private Sleigh: (approx. 25 minute ride around the Resort grounds) Maximum 2pp. Available daily 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Double Horse-Drawn Group Sleigh: (approx. 25 minute ride around the Resort grounds) Max. 16pp. Available daily 6 p.m.-8 p.m.
Hay & Sleigh Rides
We offer hay and sleigh rides to our guests and the general public. Sleigh rides on our farm can either be a romantic trip for two or a group outing. Evening bonfires and a visit with our mini-donkeys, turkey, goats, and assorted other barnyard animals complete the afternoon or evening. Hot cider and the warmth of our barn gift shop melt away any winter chill.
Santa Sleigh Ride
November 21 through December 21
Come visit Santa's favorite barnyard animals and then ride with Santa out to pick your family Christmas tree.
All rides are done on a reservation basis.
Hay & Sleigh Rides Year round
Starting at 11 a.m. Horse drawn rides in a traditional traverse sled or wagon with comfortable hay bale seats for up to 14 passengers. An hour long ride through field and forest with a splendid view of the Connecticut River Valley. Refreshments served at trail's end. During the summer and fall months our picnic area is open, complete with a campfire for cooking. Moonlight rides are available during the winter months. We also offer an elegant vis-à-vis carriage for weddings, anniversaries & other special occasions. We travel as well as host rides at the farm.
The Auto Road along with the Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center is now offering winter sightseeing tours to just above tree-line on Mt. Washington aboard a specially prepared, 8-passenger van! Our SnowCoach has been specially built for the Auto Road with all-wheel drive and has a unique 4-track system designed by Mattracks. Offering an extremely comfortable and stable ride, the tour will take you to just above tree-line where you'll look down into the 5,500 acre Great Gulf Wilderness area and over majestic snow covered peaks in the Northern Presidential range!
Tours depart Great Glen Trails daily, weather permitting, on a first come, first served basis and advance reservations are not available.
Tractor Drawn Hay Ride
Weekends during Spring, Summer, and Fall by reservation. Board their wagon for an hour long hayride through the 362 acre family farm. Ride includes a stopover with seasonal refreshments. Regular departures during the foliage season.
Horse Drawn Carriage and Sleigh Rides
Your journey through our Victorian estate begins the moment you board our custom made Austrian Sleigh, fully upholstered for your comfort, pulled by magnificent draft horses. Travel along a timeless path by the scenic Ellis river and through the woods. Sleighs stop so that you may visit with the European fallow deer in Emerald Forest. Carriage rides offered during the Summer.
Reservations are requested. Sleigh times may change based upon availability.
Group Hay and Sleigh Rides
During your one hour horse drawn sleigh ride you'll travel along farm trails past fields and through woods. At a midpoint stop at a secluded campfire, you'll have time to toast marshmallows over the open fire.
Upon your return from the sleigh ride, your group will enjoy spending an hour in our "Gathering Room." While you warm your outsides around the wood stove, you can warm your insides with hot chocolate. You may bring your own refreshments or select from our wide range of offerings.
Groups of all sizes are welcomed. Reservations are required.
Sweetheart Carriage and Sleigh Rides
Enjoy a private horse drawn sleigh ride in our "Portland Cutter" or "Vis-a-Vis" sleigh. Snuggled under a warm robe you'll be carried across the snow to the sound of jingle bells. At a campfire nestled in the woods, you'll stop briefly to enjoy hot chocolate beside an open fire.
After the ride, you'll be served a country meal in a private dining room. Seated in a dining room reserved for you alone and surrounded by antique furniture, you'll have time to savor your meal while soft music plays in the background.

Horse Drawn Hay Rides, October through December
Crisp air, glowing camp fire and popcorn. Couples, families, groups. Enjoy a horse drawn wagon ride and visit the animals in the barnyard.
Horse Drawn Sleigh Rides, January through March
Jingling bells, warm campfires and hot cocoa make for a special treat.
Day or evening reservations are required.
Wagon, Sleigh, & Tractor Rides
Free horse and tractor rides to and from the orchard and pumpkin patch on weekends. Horse drawn, wagon & sleigh rides year round by appointment.
