Monadnock Economic Development
Corporation (MEDC) is a private, not-for-profit regional
development organization committed to the creation of jobs
and the broadening of the tax base of the Southwest corner
of New Hampshire. The Board of Directors and staff of MEDC
concentrate their efforts on business retention,
relocation, expansion and recruitment projects, as well as
downtown revitalization, renovation and rehabilitation
projects. In addition to its revolving loan fund and its
network of financial institutions, MEDC has access to
state and federal funds earmarked for economic
development. MEDC
accomplishments include the development of Black Brook
Corporate Park, the rehabilitation of the Chamberlain
Block Building, the Beaver Mill, the E.F. Lane Hotel, 46
Main Street, the Colonial Theater, and the expansion of
Len-Tex Corp. in North Walpole, Benson Woodworking in
Walpole, The Mountain and Tree Free Greetings in
Marlborough and Keene, and PlumPak and Atlantic Paper &
Foil in Winchester. Current projects include the Monadnock
Region Business Incubator Network, the Troy Mills Complex
and Bridgeport Metal Goods. |
